This accompanies my beginner bass method book. It is very simple and usually the first experience a bassist with have playing a duet in their level that works and sound nice. It is written in a basic rock style. The first piece is all quarter notes, The top is a little more involved and played by the teacher. When the student starts to progress they play the top part. the rest of the book graduated slowly getting to syncopated eighths.
